Statement
PP2A is a ubiquitously
expressed heterotrimeric protein phosphatase with broad substrate
specificity and diverse cellular functions. Because PP2A is
involved in so many diverse processes, it is highly regulated
by both non-covalent and covalent mechanisms that are still
being defined. In my research project I will investigate the
role of leucine carboxyl methyltransferase-1 (LCMT-1)in the
development of Cancer. To study this I will use LCMT-1 deficient
mice and polyomavirus for tumor formation.
